How to Purchase a Good Baby Blanket?

Buying a baby blanket is not an easy job. Many parents find it very difficult to buy a soft baby blanket. When you are going to purchase a baby blanket make sure that you are at the right shop. If you are in the right place, there are more chances that you will get the right product. Here are some qualities that you need to look upon for selecting a fleece baby blanket.

  1. Size of the blanket - a lot of comforts depend on the size of the blanket. It has to be appropriate, not too big and not too small. The ideal size would be 36" x 38". The baby can be comfortably swaddled in this.
  2. The shape of the blanket - with the size, the shape of the blanket matters too. Square blankets are not good for swaddling. A long rectangular shaped blanket is again not ideal for swaddling. Both these shapes are good for wrapping the crib though.
  3. The material of the blanket - this is the most important factor in the comfort of the baby. The first thing about the material is that it should be a breathing material. The material should be warm and not incubating. The fleece is an ideal material in this respect.
  4. Colors and designs - there are many designs in baby blankets. You can see the design of the nursery and then decide the design of the blanket. Blue for boys and pink for girls still holds true. You can customize blankets as per your ideas. You can knit a blanket. You can gift a blanket on baby showers.
